Volunteer Spotlight: Class of 2024 Gift Committee

This year, the senior class gift effort was nothing short
of remarkable, thanks to the leadership of Hoopes Wampler P’22, ’24 and Elaine Lander P’23, ’24. Together, they spearheaded a dedicated committee of 10 senior class families, including alumni parents, Martha Eisenberg ’85, P’22, ’24, and Tiffany Jackson-Williams ’99, P’24.

The committee’s strategic decision to invest their collective giving in the endowment to support future students resonated deeply with students and families. They achieved an impressive 76% participation rate among the parent body—the highest at any grade level this year. Additionally, 25% of grandparents of the class of 2024 contributed, and students joined in, making this a multi-generational family effort.

A significant boost came from a generous matching gift from committee members Dan Raider and Carolyn Cannusio P’24, ’32, which unintentionally inspired 12th-grade students to join the effort. Encouragement from Adelle Wampler ’24 and Manzy Wing ’24 secured participation from 33% of the senior class in less than a week, growing the endowment effort to over $56,000.

This outstanding achievement exemplifies the power of community and collective effort. Heartfelt thanks to the entire senior class gift committee for their unwavering commitment and inspiring success. The class raised $122,000 to support Friends Select, with over $56,000 starting the Class of 2024 Endowed Scholarship Fund.
